Australia 1st innings summary
Kumara open the spell on day 2 and in 1st over he sent off Hariss to pavilion end.He scored 44 runs. Within 10 runs Australia lost two wickets.
Lyon departs on 1 taken by Lakmal. Australia was 85/4 when T Head came to bat. Head and Labuschange played brillently,they rotate the strike and played some massive shots. They both brought up fifty. They both stand up for 166 runs partnership.
After playing brillent knocked Labuschagne departs for 81 runs taken by de Silva. Debunt boy Patterson came at No.6.They both just trying to rotate the strike.
Till 5 to 8 overs they both just rotate the strikes and had a 24 runs partnership as Lakmal Strikes two wicket in two balls.
Head departs for 84 runs and Tim Paine departs on 1st ball for duck. 8th wicket just fall after 6 runs partnership taken by Chameera.
Tailender Starc and Patterson had a small partnership of 26 runs as debunt patterson departs for 30 runs. As last wicket was reamaing Starc started to play big shorts but unfortunaitly from other end Richardson was out taken by Perera.
Australia was all out for 323 runs and lead by 145 runs.Suranga Lakmal finishing with 5 for 75, and ensuring that Sri Lanka have a slender hope of drawing/winning the Test.
Sri lanka 2nd innings
Sri Lanka played 6 overs on day 2. Thirimanne and Karunaratne opend the innings and Starc starts the spell. Cummins bowled the last over of day 2 and he strikes the in form batsman Karunaratne.
Sri Lanka’s in-form batsman, was out off the day’s final ball…..whichnmeans Australia need only nine wickets to win the game.
When Sri lanka comes to bat on day 3 they need to finish the trial of 162 runs and then need to give lead of minimum 200 runs to draw/win the match.
