The 2nd match was held in Canberra(Australia). Australia won the toss and they elected to bat first. Sri Lanka made four changes and home team remain unchanged.

Australia 1st Innings summary

Harris and Burns opened the innings and Rajitha started with the new ball. A decent start from Australia as they loose first wicket in 4th over.

Fernando taken the wicket of Harris. Khawaja came at No.3 but faces only 3 balls and scored 0 run. Labuschagne came at No.4 but couldn’ stand for long in the crease.

In 9th over Chamika Karunaratne bowl his 1st over in international cricket and stirke in his 1st over as Australia was 3 down for 28 runs.

Head and Burns started to rotate strike and trying to build a partnership. Both the batsman recover the damage they occured in starting. Australia were 103\3 as they went for a lunch.

Burns and labuschagne scored fifty and brings uo 100 runs partnership. From lunch to tea session Sri Lanka had a bad time as they build a massive partnership and before the tea J Burns scored century.

Final session was resumed and Head scored his maiden test century and build a good score as Sri Lanka was struggling to find a breakthrough.

Burns and head had a partnership of 308 runs and at last Fernando provide a breakthrough and broken a long partnership. Head scored 160 runs off 204 balls hitting 21 fours and a six.

Patterson came at No.5 and Thirimanne dropped his catch on first ball. Burns was not out on 172 runs as Sri Lanka need to come back very hard on day 2. Australia were 384/4 as day 1 was ended.

Will be Sri Lanka able to come harder on day 2 ?
